IPL 2024 Updated Points Table: Here's the updated IPL 2024 points table, most runs list and most wickets list of the IPL 2024 after the CSK vs PBKS match in Chennai on May 1.

IPL 2024 Updated Points Table, Orange & Purple Cap: Punjab Kings (PBKS) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by seven wickets in the 49th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on May 1 in Chennai’s home turf at the Chepauk Stadium. In the history of the tournament, Punjab have proved to be too much for CSK, the trend continued in the CSK vs PBKS match as well. 

Winning the toss, PBKS opted to bowl first and were clinical with their performance as they managed to restrict Ruturaj Gaikwad-led CSK for 162-7 in 20 overs. In reply, powered by Jonny Bairstow’s 46-run knock and Rilee Rossouw’s blazing 43, PBKS chased the target with ease with 13 balls still remaining. With the win, PBKS now have four wins out of 10 matches and hold the seventh spot in the IPL 2024 points table. CSK, despite the loss, remain on fourth with five losses and five wins in the tournament.

For a change, Virat Kohli has been displaced from the top of the leading run-scorers charts of the tournament and now, CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad has the most runs in the season. He now holds the IPL 2024 Orange Cap with 509 runs in 10 innings.

2. Mustafizur Rahman (CSK): 9 matches, 34.2 overs, 206 balls, 14 wickets, Avg: 22.71, Runs: 318, 4-fers: 1.
3. Harshal Patel (PBKS): 10 matches, 33.0 overs, 198 balls, 14 wickets, Avg: 24.14, Runs: 338
4. Matheesha Pathirana (CSK): 6 matches, 22.0 overs, 132 balls, 13 wickets, Avg: 13.00, Runs: 169, 4-fers: 1.

Jasprit Bumrah remains the highest wicket taker in the IPL 2024 season. However, Mustafizur Rahman of CSK and Harshal Patel of PBKS also have 14 wickets but Bumrah’s superior average places him on the top of the leading wicket-takers chart and hence, he holds the IPL 2024 Purple Cap.
