IPL 2022: Shikhar Dhawan Needs Only 19 Runs To Go Past 6,000 IPL Runs

If Dhawan scores 19 more runs, he will be only the second batsman after Virat Kohli to have attained the feat of scoring 6,000 IPL runs.

IPL 2022: Shikhar Dhawan, the opening batsman of Punjab Kings (PBKS) is just 19 runs shy of completing 6,000 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Only Virat Kohli has achieved this feat of scoring 6,000 runs in IPL cricket.

Dhawan has scored 197 runs so far in the five matches that he has played for Punjab Kings in this year's IPL and is placed ninth in the race for Orange Cap. His 70 against Mumbai Indians proved to be match-winning. 

The Delhi batsman has 5981 runs against his name in the IPL so far. If he scores 19 more runs, he will be only the second batsman after Virat Kohli to have attained the feat of scoring 6,000 IPL runs. Take a look at the list of all-time top scorers of IPL. (Dhawan's numbers are highlighted):

Dhawan scored 70 runs against Mumbai on Wednesday. With the help of this innings, he has become the highest run-scorer against MI. He has scored 871 runs in 27 matches so far. During this, Dhawan scored 6 half-centuries. His best score has been an unbeaten 82 against Mumbai.

Other records that can be broken during PBKS vs SRH

- Punjab's star bowler Kagiso Rabada needs just 1 wicket to overtake Imran Tahir (82). By doing so, Rabada will become the joint 32nd highest wicket-taker in IPL along with Trent Boult (83 wickets).

- Sunrisers Hyderabad bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar needs 3 more wickets to complete 150 wickets in IPL. He will become the seventh bowler to do so. So far Dwayne Bravo, Lasith Malinga, Amit Mishra, Piyush Chawla, Harbhajan Singh and Yuzvendra Chahal have achieved this feat.
