IPL 2021 Points Table: Punjab Kings Find It Difficult To Stay In Play Off Race, Rajasthan Royals Consolidate Their Position

IPL 2021: There was a change in the position of points table and orange cap after tuesday's encounter. The path towards playoffs has become extremely difficult for the Punjab Kings.

IPL 2021 Points Table: The points table has seen a major change after Tuesday's match in Indian Premier League Season 14. Rajasthan Royals after winning has made a strong claim towards the playoffs. While Punjab Kings are in danger of being eliminated from the playoffs race this time too. Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings, however, remains at the number one position.

Rajasthan Royals beat Punjab Kings by two runs in a thrilling encounter. Rajasthan Royals have moved up to the fifth position on the points table and have made 8 points with this win. Rajasthan Royals have played 8 matches so far, winning four of them while losing four.

Troubles for Punjab Kings increase

Punjab Kings have played the highest number of 9 matches in the tournament. Punjab Kings have lost 6 of 9 matches and won three. Punjab Kings are at the seventh position in the points table with 6 points. Punjab Kings will have to win the remaining five matches to reach the playoffs.

Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals remain at first and second position with 12 points each. Royal Challengers Bangalore is third with 10 points, while Mumbai Indians with eight points in fourth place. KKR's team is sixth with 6 points in 8 matches. Sunrisers Hyderabad have won just one match and are at the last position. 

KL Rahul becomes Orange Cap Holder 

Punjab Kings captain KL Rahul Orange has become the cap holder after scoring 380 runs in 8 matches. Dhawan is second with 380 runs. Mayank Agarwal has moved up to third place with 327 runs. Du Plessis remains fourth and Prithvi Shaw fifth. 

Harshal Patel retains the Purple Cap with 17 wickets in 8 matches. Avesh Khan has taken 14 wickets and is on the second position. With 14 wickets, Chris Morris has moved up to the third spot. Arshdeep Singh is fourth and Rahul Chahar is fifth.
