Australian cricket team Head Coach Justin Langer gave his insights to ABP News on what he thinks about the participation of Australian cricketers in the IPL season amid the COVID19 threat still looming large

New Delhi: He is known to be disciplined in all facets of life and has a repution of being punctual in the cricketing circles. However on Thursday,Australian coach Justin Langer came around half an hour late for his video conference with the journalists from Perth. It was slated to start at 5.30 am in the morning but Langer joined at 5.57 am . There was some issues with internet confirmed the Aussie coach. *All time periods mentioned above are in IST In last few days I have attended 15 tele conferences and this is how things are going at the moment , said Langer from Perth.
ABP News was the only Indian news channel to join the video conference with the Aussie coach and asked Langer , " Are you okay with the fact if the Australian cricketers finally come to India to play in the IPL and did you have a word with any of the cricketers and asked their opinion about it  ?
Justin Langer said, " Obviously before all this crisis started to unravel we were determined to see our guys play in IPL and as T20 World Cup is slated this year end there's no better practice you can get and make yourself ready for the World Cup. But obviously things have changed a lot. Now it is not about individual players anymore but about the country and India as a whole is paramount here.
As you know our Prime Minister has put a total ban on the travel and that's an incredible set of circumstances. But obviously if things start changing and start changing rapidly, for the pure cricketing point of view we want our players to play in IPL. But like there's so many things going on in our community now there's no clarity at the moment ."
Justin Langer stressed on the point that he would love to help the larger cricket fraternity at this moment of crisis . " If we can make work to help English cricket , the Indian cricket ..These are very very important. "
A question was asked on whether he finds any positives out of this crisis situation . Langer answered , " I have found a silver lining and is trying to encourage the cricketers to take a break to refresh themselves mentally and physically . In the tour of South Africa they were both mentally and physically exhausted . "
The Aussie coach said that enforced time at home could actually be summed up as a kind of Nirvana after years of a travel between the airports, grounds and hotels .
