With the defeat, Mumbai Indians have now lost two matches on the trot, and maintain their winless start to the season. Apart from Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav, no other batter showed enough intent or endurance on the pitch to influence the result in MI's favour.

The batting performance of Hardik Pandya too, was questionable, as the Indian all-rounder scored 11 runs off 17 balls, which certainly did not help the cause of Mumbai Indians.

Here's What Hardik Pandya Said During Post-Match Presentation Ceremony

Hardik Pandya (Mumbai Indians Captain):

"Tough to put. Batting and bowling, we were 15-20 short. There were errors. We were not professional in the field. That cost us 20-25 runs which is a lot in T20 cricket."

"They (Gill and Sudharsan) batted brilliantly. We bowled well and there were some balls here and there but otherwise, the way they batted was exceptional. They didn't take chance. They hit boundaries. Without taking high risk, they hit boundaries and we were left with the catching up."

"There shouldn't be a concern. But I think we have to take responsibility. Batters will have to join the party and hopefully, they join in soon. I was just thinking that I bowled too many slower balls. They saw that the ball was gripping and those were the toughest balls to face. Some were gripping and some were shooting low. It makes life difficult for the batters and they used them well."
