The fate of many players changed on the first day of IPl 2022 Mega Auction. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians made a record-breaking bid for wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan as the franchise bought the young batter for Rs 15.25 crore.

With this, Ishan Kishan became the second most expensive Indian player to be sold at auction in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL). Yuvraj Singh is at number one in this list. Also, for the first time in the IPL auction history, Mumbai Indians made a bid of more than Rs 10 crore for a player.

Washington Sundar and Krunal Pandya too fetch big amount

Washington Sundar, who was a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore till last season, was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 8.75 crore. All-rounder Krunal Pandya, who played for Mumbai Indians for a long time, was acquired by Lucknow Super Giants for 8.25 crores.

Mohammad Nabi, Suresh Raina & Steve Smith Go UNSOLD!

Afghanistan's star all-rounder Mohammad Nabi did not find many buyers. His base price was Rs 1 crore. Apart from this, Suresh Raina, popularly known as Mr IPL, Australian cricketer Steve Smith, Bangladesh's star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and South Africa's David Miller did not find any buyers. However, they still have one more chance.
