Delhi Capitals' Star Prithvi Shaw Likely To Be Available For Next Fixture: Report

A few days back, the assistant coach of Delhi Capitals had hinted that Prithvi Shaw might be ruled out of the entire IPL 2022 season.

New Delhi: A fit-again Prithvi Shaw will all likely make his much-awaited comeback on Monday as the star in-form opener will be available for selection when Delhi Capitals (DC) clash against Punjab Kings (PBKS) next week. Shaw has not been able to play for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) since May 1 due to health issues and was even admitted to a hospital. The last time when Shaw played for Delhi was for a match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), earlier this month.

As per a report in The Times Of India, Prithvi Shaw has recovered from typhoid and will return to action for Delhi Capitals vs Punjab Kings IPL 2022 match.

“When they play their next game against the Punjab Kings on Monday evening, Shaw is very likely to be available,” a source was quoted as saying by TOI.

A few days back, the assistant coach of Delhi Capitals had hinted that Shaw might be ruled out of the entire IPL 2022 season. "It's not looking great. I don't know exactly his diagnosis but he's had this underlying fever for the last two weeks now which they have to really get to the bottom of to find out exactly what it was. I don't know exactly what the diagnosis is but it's not looking great for him to be available for us for the last few games," he had said during the Grade Cricketer Podcast.

After being hospitalised, Shaw had said that he would be back in action soon.

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 has so far been very good for Prithvi Shaw. He has scored 259 runs in 9 matches at a strike rate of 160. Shaw has also scored two half-centuries this season.
