IPL 2021, MI vs CSK: Jasprit Bumrah Becomes 45th Player In IPL History To Play 100 Matches
While Jasprit Bumrah completed his 100 matches in IPL for Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has also completed 100 matches in IPL for his franchise.
New Delhi: Indian Premier League (IPL) is back once again! Chennai Super Kings face Mumbai Indians in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) leg opener at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, The CSK vs MI clash is also the 30th game of IPL 14. Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has decided to bat first after winning the toss. Senior all-rounder Kieron Pollard has been asked to lead the team in absence of regular captain Rohit Sharma, also Hardik Pandya has been benched for IPL Phase 2 opening game.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians speedster Jasprit Bumrah attained a special milestone when he got onto the field to play against Chennai. Bumrah has now become the 45th player in IPL history to play 100 matches. This is also Bumrah's 100th match for Mumbai Indians. MI bowling coach Zaheer Khan presented the speedster with jersey number 100 to mark the occassion. Bumrah is now also the 15th player to play 100 IPL match for Mumbai Indians.
The first time Jasprit Bumrah played in IPL was in 2013, his debut in the cash-rich tournament. At that time Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar had handed him his debut cap. Bumrah has so far taken 115 wickets in 99 matches in the IPL. During this, his economy has been 7.11 with an average of 24.14. Bumrah has taken four or more wickets in IPL twice so far. The first half of IPL 2021 was not good for Bumrah as he had then managed to pick just six wickets off seven matches.
All-rounder Dwayne Bravo, today, also completed 100 IPL games for Chennai Super Kings. CSK vs MI in UAE is Bravo's 100th match in the IPL.
