Ind vs Eng: India captain Virat Kohli and England skipper Joe Root are believed to have exchanged words on their way to dressing rooms as things looked like it could go out of hand.

New Delhi: Another controversy has erupted from the recently-concluded Lord's Test. There are reports that there was a heated argument between team India and England players at Lord's Long Room after the end of third day's play of the match.

On Day 3 of the Lord's Test, Team India's fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah bowled continuous bouncers to James Anderson, due to which there was a lot of tension between the two teams. Even during the match between India and England players, both the teams were involved in a heated banter on-field. In the Lord's Test, India registered a resounding 151-run win despite falling behind in the first innings.

As per a report in ANI, India captain Virat Kohli and England skipper Joe Root are believed to have exchanged words on their way to dressing rooms as things looked like it could go out of hand.

"I was angry at the end. The emotion got the better of me and I felt I had to say something. I felt bad for doing that because it drew attention away from Rooty celebrating an amazing inning as he came off the field. I apologised to him afterwards for that but the emotion got the better of me. It happens sometimes," wrote Anderson in his column for the Telegraph.

In the Lord's Test, India had scored 364 in the first innings, in response, England scored 391 in the first innings, in which Root played a brilliant innings of 180 runs.

India declared the second innings at 298/8 as they bundled out England for 120 runs in the second innings to register a historic win. India is currently leading 1-0 in the five-match series, the third Test match is to be played at Headingley from today.
