Fresh FIR Filed Against Cricketer Yash Dayal For Alleged Sexual Assault Of A Minor
The FIR states that the first incident took place in a hotel located in Sitapura, where the complainant was allegedly assaulted. At the time, she was just 17 years old

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) pacer Yash Dayal is facing grave legal trouble as a fresh First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against him in Jaipur’s Sanganer Police Station. According to an NDTV report, the complaint accuses the 27-year-old cricketer of raping a minor girl over a span of two years. The alleged victim claims Dayal emotionally manipulated her by making false promises of supporting her cricketing aspirations.
The FIR states that the first incident took place in a hotel located in Sitapura, where the complainant was allegedly assaulted. At the time, she was just 17 years old. Due to the complainant's age at the time of the incident, authorities have invoked sections under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Ongoing Legal Battle In Allahabad High Court
This new development follows another ongoing case involving Dayal in Uttar Pradesh, where the Allahabad High Court recently stayed his arrest in a separate sexual exploitation case. In that instance, a woman accused Dayal of deceiving her with a false promise of marriage.
The first FIR, registered on July 6 at Indirapuram Police Station in Ghaziabad, was filed under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to sexual relations obtained through deceitful means. The complaint alleges that Dayal continued a relationship with the woman for years while claiming he would marry her — a promise he allegedly never intended to keep.
Court Proceedings And Legal Arguments
The High Court bench, consisting of Justices Siddhartha Varma and Anil Kumar, issued a stay on Dayal’s arrest while seeking responses from both the state and the complainant. The cricketer's counsel argued that prosecution under Section 69 of BNS requires proof that the accused made a marriage promise without any intention of fulfilling it.
In his petition, Dayal also requested the court to quash the FIR entirely. The complainant, in her statement, mentioned that she and Dayal met around five years ago and were involved in a prolonged relationship. According to her, Dayal delayed marriage multiple times, and she eventually discovered that he was involved with other women.
The complaint was originally filed on June 21 through the chief minister’s online grievance redressal portal.
