Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane has been handed a three-match international ban by FIFA on Thursday. The German forward will be banned for the next three friendly games of Germany. The decision comes aftermath the red card he received against Austria for pushing Austria's Philipp Mwene to the ground in a 2-0 friendly loss back in November.

The news was delivered to the German Football Association via an e-mailed statement from FIFA and the DFB has stated that the decision by the global body is not a final one and hence, will make an appeal to overturn the ban.

Leroy Sane's absence can potentially be harming to Germany's chances at the Euro 2024 as the winger will miss out on much needed game-time and chemistry-building with his German teammates before the start of the international continental carnival.
