Juventus Star Paul Pogba Handed Four-Year Ban After Testing Positive For Doping

Paul Pogba has failed the doping test after testing positive for banned substance, and has now been banned with immediate affect. Here are the details.

Juventus star player and midfielder Paul Pogba has received a four-year ban from all footballing activities after testing positive for a banned substance. The Frenchman failed the doping test and has now been officially confirmed as banned on Thursday, February 23. The ban will now potentially see the Manchester United Academy-graduate away bring an to a highly promising career, that never reached even half of its potential.

Paul Pogba was already marred with long-term injuries from past couple of seasons and hardly managed game-time, and with the ban following up, the distant dream of making in into the national side of France is all but over now. The Frenchman will most likely be appealing against the verdict.

The Paul Pogba Doping Saga

Paul Pogba was tested positive for testosterone, which led to the immediate suspension of the Frenchman. The 30-year old has remained suspended and under investigation since September 11, 2023, and after a nearly six-month long process, the footballer has been deemed guilty of the offence and has been suspended from all footballing activities for four years with immediate effect.

It will be interesting to see how Juventus acts upon it as no official statement has been given out yet by the club. The player remain under contract with the club until 2026, and also, the ban will include his already-served 5 month period of suspension, and there's a hope that the ban might see an upliftment within the calendar year of 2027.

What also remains interesting is the fact that Pogba has merely played 213 minutes for the club ever since his return to the Old Lady from Premier League giants Manchester United, and with so many prevailing problems on and off-the-field, the heirarchy at Juventus might soon press the termination button on the contract of the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner.
