Dutch Grand Prix Race Results: Max Verstappen Roars To Record-Equalling Ninth Consecutive Win

Dutch GP 2023: Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso clinched second place, while Alpine's Pierre Gasly secured a place on the podium at Zandvoort.

Max Verstappen, the Dutch driver for Red Bull Racing, secured victory in his home Grand Prix on Sunday, marking his ninth consecutive win and equaling a remarkable record. Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso clinched second place, while Alpine's Pierre Gasly secured a place on the podium at Zandvoort.

During the 65th lap of the 72-lap Dutch Grand Prix, a sudden and intense downpour abruptly interrupted the race, with hometown favorite Verstappen in the lead.

The unexpected and fierce rainfall led several cars to skid off the circuit, prompting the race organizers to halt the competition temporarily to remove the damaged vehicles from the Zandvoort track.

At the moment the red flag was waved, Verstappen was holding the lead on the track, closely followed by Alonso and Gasly.

When the race resumed after the weather-induced pause, Sergio Perez, racing in the second Red Bull car, surged into the third position before having to settle for P4 at the finish line. Ferrari's Carlos Sainz finished fifth while Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton came sixth. McLaren's Lando Norris finished at the seventh place while Williams Mercedes Alexander Albon came eighth.

Albon's teammate Oscar Piastri followed him and finished at P9. Alpine Renault's Esteban Ocon completed the top 10. Lance Stroll of Aston Martin Mercedes came 11 while Nico Hulkenberg of Haas Ferrari trailed him at P12. Liam Lawson of Alphatauri Honda, Kevin Magnussen of Haas Ferarri, Valtteri Bottas of Alpha Romeo, Yuki Tsunoda of Alphatauri Honda, George Russell of Mercedes finished P13, p14, P15, P16 and P17 respectively. Bottas' teammate Zhou Guanyu, Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, Williams Mercedes' Logan Sargeant did not finish the race.
