WTC 2023-25 Points Table After IND vs AUS 2nd Test: India Slip To Third Spot After Loss In Adelaide, Australia Reclaim No. 1 Rank

WTC 2023-25 Points Table: Australia reclaimed the top spot in the updated World Test Championship standings as India dropped to the third spot after 10-wicket loss in Adelaide.

WTC 2023-25 Points Table: India dropped to third place in the WTC 2023-25 points table following their 10-wicket loss to Australia in the pink-ball Test at Adelaide in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 on December 8 (Sunday). Australia, meanwhile, reclaimed the top spot in the World Test Championship standings as they aim to secure a top-two finish and reach the WTC final by the end of the 2023-25 cycle.

India moved to the summit of the WTC points table after defeating the Aussies by 295 run in Perth in the first IND vs AUS Test. However, the 10-wicket defeat caused India's points percentage to drop from 61.11 to 57.29 with 9 wins, a draw and 6 defeats in 16 matches, pushing them down below both South Africa and Australia, who have reclaimed the top spot in the World Test Championship standings. Australia's ninth win of the current cycle boosted their PCT from 57.69 to 60.71, placing them ahead of second-ranked South Africa (59.26). South Africa could overtake the defending champions if they win the ongoing second Test against Sri Lanka in Gqeberha.

New Zealand, who had been making a strong case for the WTC final in 2025, dropped to sixth place after being thrashed by 323 runs by the England on Sunday.
