'So Not Having Him..' KL Rahul Comes Up With Latest Update On Hardik Pandya's Injury

The Karnataka based batter also said that the team has full faith on Suryakumar Yadav and he thinks it is a good chance for the young batter to prove his worth.

India’s batter KL Rahul came up with an update on Hardik Pandya;’s injury. He confirmed that the star all-rounder will not be taking part in the upcoming Cricket World Cup 2023 match against England in Lucknow on Sunday. Pandya sustained an ankle injury while taking part in the match against Bangladesh and his injury was so serious that he missed out on playing the game New Zealand as well.

On Saturday, during the pre-match press conference, Rahul admitted that Pandya is a crucial member of the Indian team.

“Hardik has been a very important member of the team and he has been there and he does a very important role for the team. So not having him is also a bit of a miss for the team. But it's unfortunate what happened,” said Rahul.

The Karnataka based batter also said that the team has full faith on Suryakumar Yadav and he thinks it is a good chance for the young batter to prove his worth.

“We also at some point have to look at the now and the present is that he is not available for this game. Surya will probably get his chance and we know what Surya can do. So, our confidence is in Surya till Hardik comes back,” Rahul added.

The Indian team have been chasing the totals in all the five games in the ongoing World Cup and they are still unbeaten. Rahul feels that an oppotuiniuty ti bat first will be crucial ahead of the knockout stages.

"It'll be a great opportunity if we get to bat first before the next stage. In the next four games if we can get to bat first it'll be a good challenge for us to just see how to pace the innings and it's been some time since we've batted first,” said Rahul.
