India’s run machine Virat Kohli’s agility is just unrivaled on the field and he showed full glimpse when India played West Indies in the first ODI of the 3-match series in Barbados on Thursday. The Indian spinners dismantled the Windies' batting order and restricted them to just  114 in 23 overs. Spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja collectively scalped seven wickets while Hardik Pandya, Mukesh Kumar, and Shardul Thakur picked up a wicket apiece.

The former India skipper showed his fielding skills in the 18th over of the game when Jadeja came into bowl. It was a full-length delivery from the all-rounder where Romario Shepherd looked to drive the ball towards long-off. But in the end, the Windies’ batter was beaten by the sharp turn and ended up edging it towards the slip where Kohli was placed, taking a brilliant catch by stretching himself towards his right. The catch left Shepherd disappointed, who was dismissed for a 2-ball duck.

Jadeja (3/37) and Kuldeep (4/6) did the damage in tandem and the West Indies’ batters were clueless as to how to play against them. Both the spinners kept on tormenting the batters. Skipper somehow managed to make 43 runs and that was also the highest score from the team.

Kyle Mayers earlier wanted to play a free-flowing shot but ended up with a slog that went straight towards Rohit Sharma at mid-on while Jadeja jumped at the right time at point, grabbing a brilliant catch to dismiss Alick Athanaze (22 off 18 balls).

Shardul Thakur (1/14) then came up with a perfect in-cutter to scalp the wicket of Brandon King (17). Since the track offered a bit of pace, the spin duo of  Jadeja and Kuldeep were able to rush the batters as Shimron Hetmyer’s (11 off 19 balls) tough outing was evident while he was looking to try an ugly lap-scoop off Jadeja. In reply, the Indian team did a bit of change in their batting order with Shubman Gill opening the innings with Ishan Kishan. Suryakumar stepped in at the 3 spot while Hardik Pandya was the next batter in the list. Ravindra Jadeja (16*) came in at number 5 with captain Rohit Sharma and senior batter Virat Kohli pushing themselves down the order. Skipper Sharma finally walked into bat at number 7 and remained unbeaten on 12. Kishan played a brilliant knock of 52 and was the star with the bat and helped India finish of the game with 27.1 overs to spare.
