Tri-Services Chiefs, Invited To IPL Closing Ceremony After Operation Sindoor, Unlikely To Attend
The proposed appearance of Armed Forces Chiefs at the IPL final was dropped, despite earlier BCCI invitations amid celebrations of Operation Sindoor following cross-border tensions with Pakistan.

According to ABP News sources, the proposed program to feature the Chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force at the closing ceremony of the IPL Final has been dropped. No official reason has been provided yet for the change in plans.
Earlier, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed that invitations have been extended to the Chiefs of all three Armed Forces, top-ranked officers, and soldiers for the IPL final scheduled on June 3 in Ahmedabad.
The BCCI secretary, Devajit Saikia, announced that an invitation has been extended to the Chiefs of all three Armed Forces, along with senior officers and soldiers, for the Indian Premier League (IPL) final scheduled to be held on June 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The IPL final will take place on June 3 in Ahmedabad. The current season was briefly halted on May 9 due to escalating cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan, which included the Indian Armed Forces executing Operation Sindoor in retaliation to the Pahalgam terror attack. This gesture by the BCCI is intended to honor the success of the operation.
"We have extended an invitation to all Indian Armed Forces chiefs (General Upendra Dwivedi, the Chief of Army Staff, Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, the Chief of Naval Staff, and Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, the Chief of Air Staff), top-ranked officers and soldiers for the IPL final in Ahmedabad to celebrate the success of Operation Sindoor," Saikia told ANI.
Operation Sindoor was India’s firm military response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam. Initiated on May 7, the operation resulted in the elimination of over 100 terrorists belonging to groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.
Following the attack, Pakistan responded with cross-border shelling across the Line of Control and in Jammu and Kashmir, along with attempted drone strikes in the border areas. In response, India launched a coordinated offensive, targeting and damaging radar infrastructure, communication centers, and airfields across 11 airbases in Pakistan.
