The jubilant Indian team celebrated for hours at Kensington Oval in Barbados after a thrilling T20 World Cup 2024 final win against South Africa on June 29 (Saturday). Players danced to songs, and the usually reserved Indian team coach Rahul Dravid, joined in the celebrations, sharing a collective sense of relief at ending a long title drought. After the celebrations the Indian team and support staff gathered at the centre of the Kensington Oval ground and formed one final team huddle, pictures of which are going viral.
After the IND vs SA Two World Cup 2024 spectators departed, the India Cricket Team and staff returned to the centre pitch in Bridgetown, Barbados. There, they gathered in their last huddle at the empty stadium, with coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma seemingly delivering speeches.

The T20 World Cup 2024 final victory signified a pivotal moment for Indian cricket as it is the first ICC trophy for India since 2013 Champions Trophy and the first World Cup victory since 2011 ODI World Cup, both under the leadership os MS Dhoni. Alongside Rahul Dravid's departure as coach, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli announced that they played their last T20I for India and are retired from T20I international cricket following the win. Rohit stated that the timing felt right for him to retire, while Kohli acknowledged it as an opportunity for younger talent to assume leadership and propel the team forward.
