PM Modi Extends Best Wishes To Indian Contingent During Mann Ki Baat, Introduces #CHEER4BHARAT For Paris Olympics 2024

Ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sends best wishes to Indian athletes, calls for nationwide support during the Mann Ki Baat radio broadcast on Sunday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the monthly radio broadcast on June 30 (Sunday), Mann Ki Baat, extended his best wishes to all the Indian athletes set to participate in the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics. The 2024 Paris Olympics are fast approaching, with the opening ceremony slated for July 26. India is aiming for an even more impressive performance than at the Tokyo Olympics. In Tokyo, India secured seven medals, including a gold won by Neeraj Chopra in the javelin throw. The Tokyo 2020 contingent was India's largest ever, comprising 124 athletes.

In his Mann Ki Baat radio broadcast, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the anticipation for the upcoming Paris Olympics, encouraging everyone to cheer for the Indian athletes. He recalled the memorable performances at the Tokyo Olympics and noted that since then, Indian athletes have been diligently preparing, participating in around 900 international competitions. He extended his best wishes to the Indian contingent for the Paris Games.

“By this time next month, the  Paris Olympics would have started. I am sure that all of you are also waiting to cheer for the Indian players in the Olympics games. I wish the Indian contingent all the best for the Olympics games. The memories of the Tokyo Olympics are still fresh in our minds. The performance of our players in Tokyo won the hearts of every Indian. Since the Tokyo Olympics, our athletes have been wholeheartedly preparing for the Paris Olympics. If we put all the players together, then all of them have participated in about 900 international competitions. This is a very big number,” said PM Modi in Mann Ki Baat radio broadcast.

Modi Urges Nation To Use #CHEER4BHARAT To Support Indian Athletes

PM Modi announced that he will soon meet the Indian team to encourage them on behalf of the nation. He introduced the hashtag #CHEER4BHARAT, urging everyone to use it to support the athletes.

“In the coming days, I will get an opportunity to meet the Indian team. I will encourage them on your behalf. And yes… this time our hashtag is #CHEER4BHARAT. We have to cheer for our players through this hashtag,” PM Modi added.
