T20 WC: South Africa Defeat England By 10 Runs But Fail To Qualify Due To Low Run Rate, Australia Go Through

T20 World Cup: South Africa had to restrict England to a total of 131 or less to qualify for the semi-final. Australia, SA, and England have all won four matches each.

T20 World Cup: England faced the first defeat of their campaign in their last Group stage game against South Africa. Despite winning the match by 10 runs, Temba Bavuma's team failed to qualify for the semi-final of the tournament.

Australia qualifies instead from Group 1 along with England. Earlier on Saturday, Australia had defeated West Indies comprehensively, thus leaving less space for South Africa to qualify.

The Proteas put up a fighting total of 189 runs, which meant that they had to stop England for or less than 131 runs to qualify. England came out to bat in a blazing manner and crossed the 131 mark easily. South Africa was out of the tournament by the 15th over, but still, they were desperate for a win.

Kagiso Rabada's last over hattrick claimed the wickets of Woakes, Morgan, and Jordan to seal the match for the Proteas. This ended South Africa's campaign despite securing four wins out of five.

'The Group Of Death' lived up to its expectations as there was very little to differentiate between Australia, South Africa, and England who won four matches each. It would be a little heart-breaking for the Proteas fans as their World Cup agony continues.

Pakistan Vs Australia Semi-Final

What the SA Vs ENG result means is that we have the first designated semi-final of the tournament. It is going to be a blockbuster of a clash. Pakistan will meet Australia in a much-awaited encounter.

Pakistan is undefeated in this tournament and has looked strong in almost every department. It would be one of the best fixtures of this tournament.

Afghanistan will face New Zealand today that will seal the deal for Group 2. Either of India, New Zealand and Afghanistan will face England in the semi-final.
