Another Brain Fade Moment For Steve Smith? Aussie Jokingly Calls ICC ‘Not As Powerful’ As BCCI | WATCH
As Australian cricketers were asked to define the BCCI, the ICC and Indian cricket as a whole in one word each, star Aussie batter Steve Smith gave a humorous response before instantly changing it.
India and Australia are gearing up for the much-anticipated Boxing Day Test, which will be the 4th IND vs AUS Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25, scheduled to start from December 26 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Before the fourth Test, the Australian team participated in a media interaction where they were asked to share their views on the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the International Cricket Council (ICC) and Indian cricket. While most responses were diplomatic and lighthearted, it was star batter Steve Smith's remarks that stood out.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made significant strides establishing itself as the most dominant force in the cricketing world in recent times, both financially and in other aspects.
In a video going viral on social media, a few Australian cricketers were asked to define the BCCI, the ICC and Indian cricket as a whole in one word each. While players like the Australian captain Pat Cummins, Alex Carey and others used words like "powerful" and "the powerhouse" for the BCCI, Steve Smith surprised with a humorous response. Initially saying the ICC was "not as powerful," he quickly corrected himself saying, “No,no, I can’t say that. That was a joke.” He then called ICC the "leaders."
Here’s the one-word responses of Australian cricketers for BCCI, ICC, Indian cricket:
Pat Cummins: Big, Big, Big
Travis Head: Rulers, second, strong
Usman Khawaja: Strong, ICC, Talented
Nathan Lyon: Big, Boss, Passionate
Glenn Maxwell: Powerful, Boss, Fanatic
Matthew Carey: Powerful, Trophy, Powerful
Steve Smith: Powerhouse, not as powerful (changed to leaders later)

For the unversed, Steve Smith is often linked with the infamous ‘brain fade’ incident from the 2017 Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) series when he was caught looking towards the dressing room for advice on whether to use the Decision Review System (DRS) after being given out LBW by the on-field umpire.
