‘Overrated’: Shubman Gill's Duck In IND vs BAN Match Sparks Criticism About His Test Struggles

Shubman Gill faced another batting failure as he got out on an eight-ball duck in the IND vs BAN 1st Test which ignited widespread social media criticism on his struggles in Test cricket.

Shubman Gill faced a batting failure in the ongoing India vs Bangladesh 1st Test as he got out on an eight-ball duck to Bangladesh pacer Hasan Mahmud at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on September 19 (Thursday). Gill was caught by the Bangladesh wicketkeeper Litton Das as he was trying to flick a ball down the leg side, which wasn’t the best of shots. After Gill’s duck in the IND vs BAN Test, the social media users were quick to shower their scathing reactions.

After Gill's dismissal at Chepauk, social media users and cricket fans minced no words regarding his Test struggles. A user called him 'overrated' writing, “I have said it numerous times and saying it again Shubman Gill is the most overrated and useless player who has got too many chances. A test opener/one down player with 35 average after 25 matches is enough to drop him from squad.”
