'Shubman Gill Has Lost His Hunger': Former Pakistan Cricketer's Critical Assessment Of Star Indian Batter
Shubman Gill is facing heavy criticism, with experts and former cricketers questioning his 'hunger' for runs. Read below.

Shubman Gill is currently enduring a tough tour Down Under, as Australian bowlers have proved to be too good for 'Prince', who's averaging exactly 20 in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 series.
The 25-year-old has managed to score 60 runs in 3 innings, and is one of the many Indian batters currently underperforming for the side in red-ball cricket.
His lack of form has led Basit Ali (former Pakistan cricketer) criticise the Indian batter's lack of hunger for runs, and that, him and Yashasvi Jaiswal cannot be compared to Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
"Jaiswal aur Gill ko yeh nahi dekhna chahiye ke Kohli bhi out ho gaya. He has performed. Rohit Sharma has performed. ou guys should be hungry about runs, which you are not, unfortunately. Gill ko toh bilkul hi nahi hai bhookh. He loves shot-making, but Test cricket is a test of everything," said Basit Ali.
"You need to forget the past (good or bad) performances and think about what's ahead, which unfortunately Gill and others don't think. If India manage to save this Test with the help of rain, they will need to regroup," he added.
Sunil Gavaskar Gets Critical Off Shubman Gill; Questions His 'Shot Selection'
During the on-air show of Star Sports, Sunil Gvavaskar spoke on the dismissal of Shubman Gill, where he questioned the right-handed batsman's shot selection.
"Leave your image in the dressing room. Certain shots are dangerous at the start of your innings before you are set, and you don't have the measure of what the wicket is doing. Keep all those shots in your back pocket. Take them out when you are 30-40-50 not out, then can you get those shots again," said Sunil Gavaskar.
Shubman Gill has maximum four more innings to salvage his 2024-25 Australia Tour, as a big performance from his bat is still awaited by the Indian fans.
