Shan Masood Breaks Silence On Alleged Rift With Shaheen Afridi. WATCH

A video went viral on social media featuring Pakistan captain Shan Masood and star pacer Shaheen Afridi, fueling speculation about a potential disagreement between the two.

The Pakistan cricket team is currently enduring a challenging period, having faced a humiliating 2-0 loss to Bangladesh in a two-Test series on home soil. This marked the first time in Test cricket history that Pakistan lost a series to Bangladesh. Amid the turmoil, rumors of a possible rift between teammates surfaced.

Following the first Test against Bangladesh, a video went viral on social media featuring Pakistan captain Shan Masood and star pacer Shaheen Afridi, fueling speculation about a potential disagreement between the two.

"No. There is nothing like that," said Masood.

"There also came a (rumour/misunderstanding) that I kept my hand on Shaheen's shoulder and he removed it. He wasn't angry with me, he actually injured his shoulder by Rana's delivery. I kept my hand at the same injury point," said Masood at the presser after 2nd Test.

Another viral video showed Shan Masood engaged in a heated conversation with Pakistan head coach Jason Gillespie in the dressing room.

Masood clarified the incident by saying, "Then came a (report) that I was fuming at Gillespie. Our second new ball that was 8 overs old went out of the ground after Litton Das hit a six. However, the replacement ball that we got was 18 to 19 overs old. We were saying that we should have been given a new ball rather. I was complaining about that. This is the reason we try to social media less during games."

Pakistan lost the first Test by 10 wickets and the second by 6 wickets. To revive their form and stay in contention for the WTC Final, Pakistan will next face England in a three-match Test series, starting October 7 and concluding on October 28.
