'Carries His Laptop Everywhere': Saurabh Netravalkar's Sister On How USA Bowler Manages Work Alongside Cricket

T20 World Cup 2024 star for USA Saurabh Netravalkar's sister shares insights into how the USA pace sensation manages his corporate job alongside his cricket career.

Saurabh Netravalkar, the pacer for the United States cricket team, has turned out to be a big revelation in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. He has been enjoying immense popularity due to outstanding performances against India and Pakistan in the T20 World Cup. The Indian-origin cricketer garnered attention particularly for his impressive Super Over performance against Pakistan and then for dismissing Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma cheaply during USA’s match against India. Netravalkar also works at the tech giant Oracle, and his sister Nidhi Netravalkar recently discussed how he manages his dual responsibilities of cricket and work.

In an interview with News 18’s CricketNext, Nidhi mentioned Saurabh Netravalkar’s deep passion for his job, noting that he even continues working at the hotel after matches.

"He's been very fortunate to have people who have always supported him throughout his career. He knows that when he's not playing cricket, he has to give 100 per cent to the job. So right now, when he's working, he carries his laptop everywhere. And he has the freedom to work from anywhere," Nidhi told CricketNext.

Saurabh Netravalkar's Dedication To Work On And Off Field

She further shared that even when visiting India, Saurabh Netravalkar remains committed to his work, bringing his laptop with him. After matches, he continues working from his hotel room, showcasing his strong dedication to both cricket and his professional responsibilities.

"Even when he comes to India, he brings his laptop. He's working. So after the match in the hotel, he's doing his work. He is pretty dedicated like that," she said further.

Nidhi Netravalkar highlighted that Saurabh Netravalkar's strong work ethic and dedication stem from his upbringing in Mumbai, where the hustle culture is ingrained. Since his early days, he balanced sports with academic excellence, consistently excelling in both. She emphasised that he has always managed to maintain two careers effectively throughout his life.

“This is something which is like that Mumbaikarness in him, which is always there, this whole hustle culture in us. You can’t just take it out. You know, like all of us, like since the beginning, when he used to travel to Churchgate for his training on the train, he was to do his homework. He played cricket but also studied well and topped in his class. He’s always had two careers in my perspective," she added.
