Paarl Royals Vs Mumbai Indians Cape Town Match Report
Electing to bowl first, the MI Cape Town's bold decision backfired as an excellent opemning stand of 116 by Englishmen Jason Roy and Jos Buttler laid a strong platform for the Royals side as they ended their innings at 162/3.
In reply the MICT batting order fell in a pecking order as they were completely clueless against a brilliant bowling attack of Paarl Royals by bundling out for merely 103 runs. Bjorn Fortuin was awarded the Player of the Match for his figures of 3/15 in four overs.
"Yeah. Good to get back on track. Especially, after the last defeat. Yeah. Not too happy actually. I would have liked to have some more sticks to my name but we know we aren't playing for individual accolades. We knew it was going to be a bit slower. It is going to help the slow bowlers. The ball would turn later in the innings and we did well to bowl according to the plan," said Paarl Royals player Bjorn Fortuin.
"There have been a few opinions floating on the social media platforms. I just wanted to shut the noise. We would like to say 'No' but we see it. It's nice to play in front of the home crowd and get the win," the South African added in concern with his celebration.
