IND Vs NZ: India skipper Rohit Sharma touches the four-digit mark for ODI runs against New Zealand, as he reaches the feat with a six off the first over of India's run-chase in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Final. Rohit was on 997 runs, before he smashed Kylie Jamieson for a massive six towards the square leg region.
India managed to restrict New Zealand to 251/7 in their 50 overs, and Varun Chakravarthy called the wicket a 'good one', as the ball did not turn much.
"Ah, it was a good wicket compared to the previous one. It was not turning as much as we thought. I wanted to stick to the stump line and wanted the batters to make mistakes. I like bowling in the death and in the powerplay. It is a challenging phase as the batters try to score runs and taken on the bowlers. I enjoy that phase," said Varun Chakaravarthy.
"Ah, definitely. I like talking to Kuldeep a lot. Even Jaddu bhai and Axar have been helpful. Everything has been really good so far for us. I am a bit new to this setup and trying my best to build a bond with the players. Yeah, it's a little sore. I have to take a few painkillers now. I think it's a gettable score if we bat well," he added.
