Rishabh Pant Supports X User’s Fundraiser For College Fees. Drama Unfolds Next. What's The Matter?

Rishabh Pant’s support for a college student’s fundraiser faces an intriguing twist, with the student announcing he will refund the donations after facing online trolling and allegations of fraud.

Rishabh Pant, the star Indian wicketkeeper batter helped a boy with his college fees for the engineering studies through a post on social media. However, the boy afterwards announced that he will refund the money to the Delhi Capital captain.

On Tuesday (August 27),  a social media user under the account name of ‘True India Scenes’ urged Rishabh Pant for help with his college fees and asked the Indian cricketer to consider supporting his self-funding campaign on X (formerly Twitter). The X user also included a link to a fundraising website, where the campaign is listed under the name Kartikey Maurya, who is pursuing an engineering degree at Chandigarh University.

“Hello @RishabhPant17 Sir I’m a student struggling to fund my engineering education. Your support can change my life. Please consider helping or sharing my campaign. Your kindness would mean everything to me,” the user wrote tagging Pant in the post. 

Pant Supports Social Media User's Campaign Appealing For Financial Assistance

To the user’s delight, Pant responded to the post with a heartwarming message and also supported the fundraising campaign.

“Keep chasing your dreams. God has better plans always tc,” Pant wrote in response.

The user took to X again thanking Pant for his assistance and included a screenshot of the fundraising website which confirms Pant’s support to the campaign.

User Decides To Refund Donations After Facing Online Trolling

However, after the news of his fundraising campaign went viral on social media, the user announced that he would refund all the money to Pant, just hours after initially thanking the cricketer for supporting his fundraiser. The decision was prompted by persistent online trolling and abuse.

This happened after social media users suggested that Pant has just been defrauded and than the user asking for money is not actually a student but a scam.
