Ravichandran Ashwin Gets Involved In Heated Exchange With Jonny Bairstow After Wild Celebration Post Englishman's Wicket In IND vs ENG 2nd Test- WATCH

IND vs ENG 2nd Test: Ravichandran Ashwin was involved in a heated exchange with Jonny Bairstow after the latter's wicket in fourth innings of the second Test in Visakhapatnam.

Ravichandran Ashwin, veteran India off-spinner, played a crucial part in India's series-levelling win over England at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA International Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. While he went wicketless in India's first innings with the ball, he did chip in with scores of 20 and 29 in the first two innings. Then in the fourth innings of the Test as England adopted their characteristic attacking style while attempting to chase 399 to win, Ashwin delivered with the ball.

The off-spinner removed Ben Duckett to give India the first breakthrough towards the end of the day's play on Sunday (February 4) before returning to get the wickets of Ollie Pope and Joe Root to get to 499 Test wickets. While the 38-year-old could not enter the 500-Test wicket club on Monday (February 5), he did manage to become India's leading wicket-taker in Tests against England, surpassing BS Chandrashekhar's tally.

Ashwin was at the centre of another talked about incident in the match. In what would have probably been the last over before lunch, India got the wicket of Jonny Bairstow, courtesy of a superb bowl from Jasprit Bumrah. While the ball seemed angled in to the right-hander, it was going on to clip the leg stump. With the on-field decision being out, Bairstow's referral could not save him but the review was retained.

However, it was Ashwin's wild celebration near Bairstow that caught the eye of the fans. The duo even seemingly had an angry exchange as Bairstow walked off the field. The video of the same has gone viral on social media.

India and England will meet in the third Test match at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot beginning on February 15.
