Pune Weather Forecast, India vs New Zealand 2nd Test: Will Rain be a factor at all in the IND vs NZ 2nd Test in Pune?
Pune Weather Forecast, India vs New Zealand 2nd Test: India and New Zealand are gearing up for the second Test in Pune. With the Day 1 of the IND vs NZ 2nd Test set to get underway on October 24 (Thursday), all eyes will be on the weather conditions. Notably, weather did play a part in the Test series opener in Bengaluru where the Day 1 was washed out and not a single ball was bowled. India then opted to bat first in overcast conditions on Day 2, only to get bowled out for 46 which cost them the match despite their effort of 462 runs in the second innings.
However, weather is expected to be far more favourable in Pune. There should be uninterrupted five days of cricket, should the match last that long, which has been rare in India in the recent past. If the weather forecast is to be believed, the temperatures in the city will be in the early 30 degree Celsius. There will be a cloud cover, in excess of 50 percentage which will come down by the afternoon.
What that means for the IND vs NZ 2nd Test is good batting conditions in the first two-three days with last couple of days expected to assist spin, depending on the pitch. This is perhaps the kind of weather where one could choose to bat first, if the pitch too has nothing or very little in it to offer seam bowling.
