BCCI Annual Contracts: Out of form Indian batsmen, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane are likely to be demoted to BCCI's Grade B salary category. Both these batsmen are currently in the A category.
The Test specialists are set to be demoted in the 2022 central contract announcements, reported TOI.
As per BCCI guidelines, there are four brackets in which the players are divided. The four grading schemes are Grade A+, Grade A, Grade B, and Grade C. The salary for each of these grading systems is 7 crore, 5 crore, 3 crore, and 1 crore INR, respectively.
As per the report, Mohammed Siraj, who is currently in the C category will be promoted to the A or B category due to his recent performances. Axar Patel might also be promoted to the B category from C.
Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah are the only three players in the A+ category who receive a salary of 7 crore rupees. They will continue to be part of the A+ category.
