How Babar Azam's Pakistan Can Still Qualify For ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Semifinal

Whether it's too late for Babar Azam's Pakistan to qualify for ICC Cricket World Cup semifinal depends on several factors, including the results of their remaining matches and those of other teams in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 tournament.

At present, Pakistan is in 5th position in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Points Table with 6 points after win over Bangladesh. First requirement of Pakistan to make it to World Cup semis is that Afghanistan lose at least two of their three remaining ODI World Cup 2023 matches. In a big positive for Pakistan, New Zealand's loss against South Africa, yesterday, helped Babar Azam's side remain in top five in Points Table. Going by the current rankings in Points Table, AUS is at number 3 with 8 points and NRR of +0.970, NZ at number 4 with 8 points and NRR of +0.484 and PAK at number 5 with 6 points and NRR of -0.024 .

After New Zealand's loss against South Africa, Pakistan are now hoping for Afghanistan to lose their remaining two matches. Furthermore, Pakistan must win their remaining two games to advance to ODI World Cup 2023 semifinal.

Pakistan's next match in ODI World Cup 2023 is against New Zealand on November 4 at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
