Mohammed Shami, Shreyas Iyer discussed how Rohit Sharma's fiery demeanor stems from his passion for the game and his high standards for the team.

Mohammed Shami and Shreyas Iyer recently shared their experiences of playing under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. Known for his expressive demeanor on the field, Rohit has often been seen scolding or even using strong language to motivate his players when needed.

However, the Indian skipper's direct communication style is not only effective but also boosts the confidence of players, especially the younger ones. This straightforward approach has been instrumental in fostering a positive environment within the team, contributing significantly to India's recent success.

During a recent cricket award show, Shami and Iyer shared their insights about Rohit Sharma, explaining why he often appears angry on the field and how he expresses his emotions. They discussed how Rohit's fiery demeanor stems from his passion for the game and his high standards for the team.

A video of this candid discussion has gone viral on social media. Watch below...

"The best thing about Rohit Sharma is that he gives you freedom but if you don't live up to his expectations then the reactions we see on the screen, the ones we understand without him saying anything, start to come out," Shami said during the award show.

Iyer had similar thoughts to Shami and added:

"He's actually right. We fill in the words 'woh', 'yeh', 'usko', 'isko', it is kind of like fill in the blanks for us. So, we just visualise that what will happen in that particular moment or he is talking about what will happen in another situation. But, we understand his feelings, we have been playing with him for so many years. It's not like he is trying to beat around the bush, we know exactly what he feels," Iyer said.

Keep telling them to be themselves on field, replies Rohit Sharma

"There's a simple story behind this. I keep telling them to be themselves on the field, but for that first, I have to be myself, and that is how I am, and that is how I want to be on the field as well," Rohit said.
