ICC Punishes Siraj, Head: International Cricket Council have taken a strong action against Mohammad Siraj and Travis Head, as the duo have been penalised for showing misconduct during Australia Vs India, 2nd Test, at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide.

The incident occured on Day 2 of the 2nd Test, during the 3rd innings, as Travis Head was batting exceptionally well, and was looking unstoppable. During the 82nd over, Mohammad Siraj was smashed for four and six by Travis Head, before he replied with a brilliant yorker, which led to the dismissal of the centurion.

However, what followed later was pure ugly scenes, as Mohammad Siraj showed extreme dissent and disrespected the Australian batter, and in return, tempers flared, as Travis Head lost his head and replied with his own set of words, which he later specidied to be 'well bowled'.

India and Australia survived a scare, as ICC have not handed them a ban and the duo will be available for their respective sides in the Gabba Test.

"Siraj has been penalised 20% of his match fee after being found guilty of breaching article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel which relates to 'using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon dismissal'," said ICC in a released statement.

"Head too has been sanctioned for breaching Article 2.13 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to the 'abuse of a player, player support personnel, umpire or match referee during an international match'," added ICC.

"Siraj and Head have received one demerit point each on their disciplinary records, marking their first offence within the last 24 months. Both players admitted their respective offences and accepted the sanctions proposed by Match Referee Ranjan Madugalle," concluded ICC.
