Mayank Yadav Joins Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar In Elite List After First-Ball Wicket Vs Bangladesh

Mayank Yadav finished with figures of 2/32 off his 4 overs in the IND vs BAN 3rd T20I in Hyderabad on Saturday (October 12).

Young pace sensation Mayank Yadav continued to impress cricket lovers and pundits alike with a first-ball wicket for Team India in the third T20I against Hyderabad on Saturday (October 12). While Mayank was used in the middle overs in the first two matches, this time around he got the opportunity with the new ball and made it count straight away.

What was interesting was the fact that Mayank used his speed to get the wicket, the same weapon which announced his arrival on the world stage. The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) speedster bowled a bouncer first up to Parvez Hossain Emon who was beaten for pace and only managed to edge the ball into the air before it was caught by Riyan Parag, managing to pick a wicket in the first over of the Indian bowling innings.

Mayank Yadav Joins Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya In Elite List

Mayank joined an elite list of Indian bowlers to have achieved the feat. He becomes only the fourth bowler from India to get a wicket off the first ball of the innings in T20Is. The previous three names on this elite list are Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya.

Mayank added another wicket later in the innings as he got rid of Mahmadullah to finish with figures of 2/32 in his 4 overs.  Overall, it turned out to be a pretty fine debut series for Mayank who was amongst the wickets in each of the three matches, finishing with 4 wickets from 3 fixtures.

Even though Mayank was far from his top speed with which he first caught the eye, he was still quick, consistently above 140 kmph in his first competitive cricket tournament after his injury. The speedster wasn't too erractic with his line and lengths either.
