Former India skipper Mohammad Azharuddin spoke about Shubman Gill on Basit Ali’s YouTube channel and said, “Mai unki batting ka Mureed hoon (I am a fan of Shubman Gill’s batting). Honhaar cricketer hai kaafi acha lagta hai usey khelta dekh kar (He is a talented cricketer and I enjoy watching him play).
“He is a free-flowing batsman, looks elegant and is a complete entertainer,” he added.

Azharuddin also praised Ishan Kishan, who also recently got a double century.

“He is a lefty, a good striker of the ball and looks stylish whenever he plays the shots,” said Azharuddin.
“Shubman and Ishan are going to the pillars of Indian batting in the future. They are hugely talents,” he said.
India are playing against New Zealand in the final ODI of a three-match series where skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill scored a terrific century.
