KXIP release Yuvraj Singh and Aaron Finch

While Yuvraj Singh failed to impress even after his return to his first IPL team, Finch's release has surprised many considering his brilliant form in the shortest format of the game this year

Indian star batsman Yuvraj Singh and Australian star player Aaron Finch are the latest entrants included in the list of 11 players released by the Kings XI Punjab ahead of the IPL auction. While the franchise has already traded Marcus Stoinis for Mandeep Singh, nine players have been retained.

It is believed that the overhaul comes because of the poor performance by the squad during the second half of the previous season. Despite having a great start in the beginning of the last season, the franchise failed to make it to the playoffs.

While Yuvraj Singh failed to impress even after his return to his first IPL team, Finch's release has surprised many considering his brilliant form in the shortest format of the game this year.

Indian star spinner R Ashwin who was also the captain of the Kings Xi Punjab last season has been retained.

Released: Yuvraj Singh, Barinder Sran, Dwarshuis, Manoj Tiwary, Aaron Finch, Pardeep Sahu, Mayank Dagar, Manzoor Dar, Axar Patel, Mohit Sharma, Ben Dwarshuis and Akshdeep Nath.

Traded: Marcus Stoinis for Mandeep Singh
