Kedar Jadhav Announces Retirement From All Forms Of Cricket

The Indian all-rounder has called it a day, as he's all set to hang up his cricketing boots. Here are the details.

Indian all-rounder Kedar Jadhav has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. The 39-year old announced the decision via a tweet from his official 'X' account on Monday, June 3. Kedar Jadhav has represented India 73 times in One Day Internationals, and 9 times in T20I's, and is a veteran in the Indian Premier League.

Kedar Jadhav was subject to injury-prone last few years, as the cricketer, on few occasions, withdrew from Indian Premier League (IPL) seasons for the above-mentioned reason. Kedar Jadhav has only played 11 matches in past 5 IPL seasons and skipped the 2022 and 2024 edition due to injury. The all-rounder was last, part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru squad before his withdrawal from IPL 2024 after getting unsold in the IPL Auction 2024.

Form was also a reason for the veteran's downfall as his inconsistency led to his release from Chennai Super Kings and was dropped from the national team set-up as well. The last cricketing innings of Kedar Jadhav justified the aforementioned statement, as he was dismissed for a duck inside two deliveries in the ongoing Maharashtra Premier League, where he is playing for Kolhapur Tuskers.

Has Kedar Jadhav Drawn Inspiration From MS Dhoni For The Style Of Retirement Announcement?

Cricketing fans have started drawing comparisons of the retirement announcement styles of Kedar Jadhav and MS Dhoni, as the former Chennai Super Kings all-rounder gave a similar announcement style. The reason for that is that in both the announcements, the phrase 'Consider me retired' is common.
