IPL 2023: Rohit Sharma Surpasses MS Dhoni As Highest Earner From IPL Wages

IPL 2023: Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni have been the most successful captains in the history of the tournament.

After the Indian Premier League 2023 mini-auction was successfully conducted in Kochi, fans have already started to look forward to the actual on-field action. While the lucrative league is expected to start on April 1, the latest news around the tournament is Rohit Sharma will surpass MS Dhoni as the competition's highest-ever earner from IPL wages this season.

While both Rohit and Dhoni have been the most successful captains in the history of the tournament with the Hitman leading the Mumbai Indians to five IPL titles and MSD having helped the Chennai Super Kings to four IPL wins, it is no surprise that the two are the highest earners from IPL wages.

As per a new report carried by Moneyball, Rohit has now surpassed Dhoni in this list. While Rohit's total IPL wages come to a sum of Rs. 178.6 crore, Dhoni's total earning come to Rs. 176.84 crore. Notably, Dhoni was leading this list up until the last season, however, his decision to let Jadeja get the first retention spot and he himself accepting a contract of Rs 12 crore has let the current India captain overtake him in the list of IPL's highest earners.

Royal Challenger Bangalore's Virat Kohli is number 3 on this list with a total earning of Rs 173.20 crore.
