Dhoni Hands Over 'No.7' Jersey To Pandya Brothers To Win Million Hearts Even As CSK Suffer Massive Loss To MI

After suffering a massive 10-wicket defeat at the hands of Mumbai Indians, CSK skipper MS Dhoni handed over his much famed 'No 7' CSK jersey to MI's Pandya Brothers - Hardik and Krunal.

The writing on the wall was coming sooner than latter and it eventually was there in bold letters as 3-time IPL champions CSK were eliminated from the play-off race after suffering a massive 10-wicket defeat to Mumbai Indians in an IPL 2020 encounter played at the Sharjah Cricket Ground in United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Friday (Oct 23). It was undoubtedly a moment of disappointment and gloom for both the players and the die hard fans of the 'Whistle Poddu' Brigade as the Dhoni-led team had made it to the play-offs in each of their past ten season in the IPL. Winning and losing is part of sport and after scaling glittering heights as one of the most dominant teams in the IPL, CSK have been a pale shadow of themselves in Season 13, coming out second best to much more formidable teams all through the season. Amidst the massive defeat for his team, there was still a sporting gesture by CSK's legendary skipper MS Dhoni, which won the hearts of million fans all around the world. After suffering a massive 10-wicket defeat, MS Dhoni handed over his much famed 'No 7' CSK jersey to Mumbai Indian's Pandya Brothers - Hardik and Krunal. 'Mahi' presented his match jersey to Rajasthan Royal wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler, after his forgettable outing in his 200th IPL game, which too ended in a loss. Coming to the MI vs CSK game, Mumbai Indians registered a dominant 10-wicket win over CSK and dashed their hopes of a play-off berth in season 13. The loss happened to be CSK's 8th of the season and left them languishing at the bottom of the table. After restricting CSK for a meagre 114-9 run total, MI coasted past the highly getable target with openers Quinton De Kock and Ishan Kishan going all guns blazing without even losing a single wicket.
