Harmanpreet Kaur Fined 75 Percent Match Fee For Her Behavior In IND W vs BAN W 3rd ODI: Report

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur's displeasure and anger with the umpire's decision extended to her smashing the stumps with her bat after being given out leg-before.

Indian women's cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur has been fined 75 percent of her match fee for her behavior in IND-W vs BAN-W 3rd One-Day-International match at Dhaka's Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Saturday (July 22). The development was confirmed by a match official to Cricbuzz on Sunday adding that it was a level two offence. Harmanpreet was given LBW out by umpire Tanvir Ahmed in IND vs BAN women's 3rd ODI during India's chase. The Indian captain's displeasure and anger with the leg-before-out decision extended to her smashing the stumps with her bat and a heated exchange with the umpire before walking back to the dugout. Later in the post-match presentation ceremony, Harmanpreet slammed umpires for 'bias and pathetic' umpiring throughout the ODI series.

"For the on-field incident (smashing the wicket) she will be fined 50 percent of her match fee while for the way she represented herself her in the presentation ceremony, she will be fined 25 percent of her match fee," the official told Cricbuzz.

As per the Cricbuzz report, Harmanpreet received two demerit points for showing dissent with the on-field umpire's decision and one demerit point for taking a dig at the umpires at the post-match presentation ceremony.

Harmanpreet Kaur's frustration was evident when umpire Tanvir Ahmed gave her LBW out off Nahida Akter's bowling in the 34th over of India's chase. She was fuming at the decision and reacted with anger by smashing the stumps.

The last-over thriller between India and Bangladesh women ended with scores levelled but no Super Over was bowled and the series ended in a 1-1 tie. In the past-match presser, Harmanpreet did not mince her words and accused the umpires of 'home bias'.

"A lot of learning from this game. Even apart from the cricket, the type of umpiring that was happening there, we were very surprised," Harmanpreet said.

"The next time whenever we are coming to Bangladesh, we'll have to make sure we have to deal with this kind of umpiring and accordingly we'll have to prepare ourselves.

"They batted really well, batted according to the situation. They were taking those singles which were very crucial. In between we leaked a few runs but when we were batting, we controlled the game very well but as I mentioned earlier some pathetic umpiring was done and we are really disappointed about some decisions given by the umpires."
