'Top-Order Batters Should Know..,': Deepak Chahar's Reaction After India's Series Win Over Sri Lanka

In the second ODI against Sri Lanka, Indian fast bowler Deepak Chahar played an important role with the bat, helping the team win by scoring an unbeaten 69.

IND vs SL: Team India fast bowler Deepak Chahar has made a big statement about the team's top-order batters. He says that his batting will boost the morale of the top-order batters. Chahar said that he isn't worried about the all-rounder's tag or T20 World Cup selection. He is focused on improving his batting. Chahar won the game for the team by scoring an unbeaten 69 in the second ODI against Sri Lanka.  

Chahar's Performance With the Bat Sends Social Media in State of Frenzy

After Deepak Chahar's brilliant innings, all the veterans including Yuvraj Singh and Rohit Sharma praised his batting. He led Team India to victory against Sri Lanka when the going was tough. People are praising his batting on social media, too. 

Here's what Chahar said about his batting

Deepak Chahar said, "It doesn't matter whether people consider me an all-rounder or not. But the guy batting with me will have the confidence that I can support him. If I'm batting with the game in the balance, it is important that the top-order batters know that this guy can help us win the match." He said, "I have worked hard on my batting. My father was my coach. Whenever I talk to him, 60 or 70% of it is about batting."

Chahar Showers Praise On Dhoni 

In the IPL, Chahar plays for the Chennai Super Kings, which is led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He said that the former Indian captain had a great influence on him. Chahar said, "Dhoni's influence isn't limited to Chennai. I have seen him since my childhood. Whenever I talk to him, he stresses the need to take the game till the end. He maintains that if the match goes till the end, it will be fun and people will enjoy it."

Here's What Chahar Said About Rahul Dravid 

Deepak Chahar said that he has benefitted from Rahul Dravid's guidance. Dravid is the coach of the limited-overs team in Sri Lanka. He said, "The T20 World Cup is a little far away. Selection isn't in my hands. But performances are. I am fortunate that I got a chance to improve my batting. I was looking for an opportunity to bat."
