Marquee players for the first Test match will definitely be the modern greats, Virat Kohli and Joe Root, alongside one of the greatest all-rounders of all time, Ben Stokes. As the pitch will provide assistance to batters, players like Zack Crawley, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Ollie Pope can come in handy and be the real darkhorses. Also, given the nature of the soft Indian pitches, Jack Leach can be pivotal for England in the latter stages of the match with his left-arm spin.
