India vs England: With Yashasvi batting on an unbeaten 179* at the end of the first day's play, India captain Rohit Sharma's four-year-old comment on the left-hander has gone viral on social media.
Yashasvi Jaiswal is having a Test match to remember at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA International Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. The young India opener slammed his maiden international hundred on Indian soil in the first innings of the Vizag Test which has put India in control on Day 1 of the second Test of the five-match series against England. The innings is a significant one for Team India who entered the test, trailing 0-1.
With Jaiswal in sight of a double hundred, batting on an unbeaten 179* till the end of the first day's play, India captain Rohit Sharma's four-year-old comment on the left-hander has gone viral on social media. Notably, the India captain had commented 'Next Superstar' on a picture shared by the left-hander on his Instagram account four years ago.

Meanwhile, India have finished Day 1 of the second Test on 336/6. Other than Jaiswal's ton, all other Indian batters got a start but failed to convert it into a big score with no one else getting to a half-century. Captain Rohit Sharma scored 14 off 41, Shubman Gill scored 34 off 46, Shreyas Iyer made 27 off 59, Rajat Patidar scored 32 off 72, Axar Patel chipped in with 27 off 51 while local boy Srikar Bharat accumulated 17 off 23.
Ravichandran Ashwin was Jaiswal's batting partner when stumps was called on Day 1. He will resume batting on 5* on Day 2. For England, it was the spinners who were the wreckers-in-chief with the trio of Tom Hartley, Shoaib Bashir and Rehan Ahmed picking 5 wickets between themselves. Veteran James Anderson got the better of Anderson. Joe Root remains the only England bowler introduced so far, not to have a wicket against his name.
