Jasprit Bumrah Becomes BCCI's Highest-Paid Cricketer In 2020; No Rohit Sharma In Top 5!

Team India's star fast-bowler Jasprit Bumrah has become BCCI's highest-paid cricketer this year playing for the Indian team. Bumrah left behind Virat Kohli in this list. Rohit Sharma is also not in the top-5 in this list.

Jasprit Bumrah played 4 Tests, 9 ODIs and 8 T20 matches for the Indian team in the year 2020. From the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), an Indian cricketers get 15 lakh rupees for playing a Test match.

Similarly, 6 lakhs per ODI and 3 lakhs per T20 match, match fees are paid. In this way, Jasprit Bumrah got a total match fee of Rs 1.38 crore in 2020, which is more than any Indian cricketer. This amount is in addition to his contract fees.

Virat Kohli played 3 Tests, 9 ODIs and 10 T20 matches for India in 2020. In this way, he received a total match fee of Rs 1.29 crore this year. In this list, Kohli is the Indian cricketer who received the highest match fees after Bumrah.

Virat Kohli is not playing the second Test match against Australia due to paternity leave. If he had played this match, his total match fee of the year would have been Rs 1.44 crore.

After Jasprit Bumrah and Virat Kohli, the Indian cricketer who received the highest match fees was Ravindra Jadeja. He played 2 Tests, 9 ODIs and 4 T20 matches in a year. In this way, he got a total match fee of 96 lakh rupees this year.

Rohit Sharma failed to join even the top-5 cricketers in terms of earning from match fees in 2020. A major reason for this was his poor fitness. Rohit played 3 ODIs and 4 T20 matches this year and got a total match fee of Rs 30 lakhs this year.

This year Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant received more match fees than Rohit Sharma. Rahane played 4 Test matches in 2020 and this earned him a match fee of 60 lakhs. Pant played 3 Tests, One ODI and 2 T20 matches this year and received a total match fee of Rs 57 lakhs this year.
