'Overjoyed At Success In Australia', PM Modi Reacts To Team India's Historic Win, BCCI Announces Rs 5 Cr Bonus
Team India's heroic win was celebrated and cheered by the entire nation and even Prime Minister couldn't resist to talk about it.
New Delhi: Soon after Team India notched a historic Test series win by defeating Australia by three wickets in the fourth and final Test at The Gabba, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to express his jubilance on the occasion saying that the entire nation is overjoyed at the success of Ajinkya Rahane-led side who showed remarkable energy and passion throughout the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India won the four-match series 2-1, after they registered a thumping three-wicket win in the final Test in Brisbane.

Not just the PM, but several bigwigs of the cricketing fraternity hailed Team India's stellar performance despite the absence of their regular captain Virat Kohli and creating history by becoming the first team to beat Australia at The Gabba in over 32 years.
Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced a Rs 5 crore bonus for the Indian cricket team after the Ajinkya Rahane-led side won the fourth and final Test against Australia and retained the Border-Gavaskar trophy.
Former captain and current BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, while congratulating Rahane & Co., also announced a Rs 5 crore bonus for the Indian team.
"Just a remarkable win...To go to Australia and win a test series in this way ..will be remembered in the history of indian cricket forever ..Bcci announces a 5 cr bonus for the team ..The value of this win is beyond any number ..well done to every member of the touring party," Ganguly tweeted.

Even BCCI Secretary Jay Shah tweeted within minutes of each other to make the annoucement of a bonus. "The @BCCI has announced INR 5 Crore as team bonus. These are special moments for India Cricket. An outstanding display of character and skill," Shah tweeted minutes ahead of Ganguly.

Chasing 328, India achieved the target in 97 overs with Rishabh Pant remaining unbeaten on 89. Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara also scored 91 and 56 runs respectively.
The hosts had won the first Test of the series in Adelaide, while bowling out India with the pink ball for their lowest Test total of 36. The Rahane-led side, however, registered a stunning comeback in Melbourne, winning the Boxing Day Test by eight wickets. The third Test then ended in an epic draw in Sydney.
