India To Visit Sri Lanka To Play 3 ODIs And 3 T20Is Post T20 World Cup

Subsequent to the Zimbabwe series, Sri Lanka will encounter Afghanistan, featuring a Test match, three ODIs, and as many T20Is in January and February.

Following the culmination of the 2024 T20 World Cup next year, India are set to be on a tour to Sri Lanka, engaging in three ODIs and an equal number of T20Is. Commencing their international cricket calendar in January, Sri Lanka's national team will face Zimbabwe in a home series encompassing three ODIs and T20Is. Their performance in 2023 was lackluster, finishing ninth among 10 teams in the ODI World Cup and facing defeat in the Asia Cup finals by a margin of 10 wickets, along with losing two home Tests to Pakistan.

Subsequent to the Zimbabwe series, Sri Lanka will encounter Afghanistan, featuring a Test match, three ODIs, and as many T20Is in January and February. Post this, they'll undertake an all-format tour in Bangladesh before their participation in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

August will witness Sri Lanka's tour to England, engaging in three Tests, succeeded by a two-Test series against New Zealand at home in September. CEO of Sri Lanka Cricket, Mr. Ashley De Silva, expressed anticipation for an engaging year ahead, filled with extensive international cricket. "We are heading into a highly exciting year with a lot of international cricket to be played, which augurs well for us, as our team will be engaged in competitive cricket year around"

“The 2024 calendar is expected to give our players a lot of playing opportunities, fans entertainment, and our sponsors great exposure,” added De Silva.

Reflecting on recent tours, Sri Lanka had challenging outings in New Zealand, facing series defeats in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is. However, they clinched victory against Ireland in a two-Test home series in April.

Despite the International Cricket Council's ban on Sri Lanka Cricket due to government interference, the bilateral commitments of the national teams will proceed, with the U-19 World Cup relocated to South Africa. The men's national side is slated to participate in 52 international matches next year.
