Ind vs SL Asia Cup 2023 Final: Big news coming in from Sri Lanka ahead of Sunday's blockbuster India vs Sri Lanka Asia Cup 2023 Final clash. As per several reports circulating on social media, Sri Lanka's 23-year-old in-form off-spinner Maheesh Theekshana has been ruled out of IND vs SL Asia Cup 2023 Final due to a strained right hamstring -- an injury he suffered while he was fielding in Sri Lanka's Super 4 match against Pakistan on Thursday. If the reports circulating are true then this is a huge setback for Sri Lanka who are already going through a bad injury crisis. Just a few days are left for the ODI World Cup 2023 and Sri Lanka would like all their key players to remain fit and running soon.
It is being reported that the team management would have risked playing Maheesh Theekshana in Asia Cup 2023 Final but the ODI World Cup 2023 is round the corner and it is advisable to rest him.
Maheesh Theekshana has been ruled out of Asia Cup final. He’s got a grade two hamstring tear. He’s been replaced by Sahan Arachchige. The problem for Sri Lanka is to figure out what they’d do during the Power Plays against a strong Indian batting unit

Theekshana has been brilliant for Sri Lanka throughout the tournament. The off-spinner has been his national team's highest wicket-taker in ODIs this year, taking 31 wickets in 15 matches at an average of 17.45.
“Maheesh Theekshana got hurt while he was fielding in the Sri Lanka-Pakistan game. To completely examine the player’s condition, a scan will be performed tomorrow,” said an official statement from Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Board official release.
