IND vs SA: Mohammed Siraj Gets Impact Fielder Medal As India Beat SA In Final T20I

After the conclusion of the game, Dilip talked to the players and said that the team management would continue with the ritual of giving away medals to the best fielder.

India’s pacer Mohammed Siraj won the Impact Fielder medal as the fielding coach T Dilip did the honours after India outplayed South Africa by 106 runs at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. The three-match T2OI series concluded in a 1-1 draw after the first match got called off due to excessive rain and then South Africa won the second game.

After the conclusion of the game, Dilip talked to the players and said that the team management would continue with the ritual of giving away medals to the best fielder. India’s fielding coach started naming the three contenders for the medal with Rinku Singh being the first one for his effort and awareness on the field. The second one was Yashasvi Jaiswal who took crucial catches on the field.

Dilip then called Siraj the final contender, hailing him for his amazing fielding skill even though he is a bowler. Dilip then gave the medal to Siraj and said he is still fielding with the same effort as he was at the ODI World Cup.

“We talk about making a difference not just in one match but throughout the series. The perseverance with which he was going through the World Cup is still there. Every time he bowls, he comes back and dives and throws the ball. Today he made the difference in the field with the direct hit. Earlier, it was with his boundary line fielding,” said Dilip while presenting the medal to Siraj.

Talking about the final T20I, on the back of a sensational hundred from Suryakumar Yadav, alongside a five-wicket haul from Kuldeep Yadav, India secured a dominant 106-run win over South Africa at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. Suryakumar made 100 off 56 balls which helped the visitors post 201/6 while Kuldeep Yadav registered figures of 5/17 to break the spine of the opposition and help India seal the game.
