It was a forgetful day for Nazmul Hossain Shanto’s side as with the defeat, they have almost been knocked out of the T20 World Cup 2024 since they only have one match left to play and only an otherworldy miracle can see them through to the semi-finals.

Electing to bowl first, Bangladeshi bowlers did not do justice to their decision, as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli provided the Indian side with a flying start. However, the pair could not convert their explosive start, as the Indian skipper fell prey to Bangladesh legend Shakib Al Hasan, as his slower one deceived Rohit Sharma and was caught by Jaker Ali.
